Hypnotherapy Associations

Association for Transpersonal Psychology & Hypnotherapy (ATPH): THI graduates may automatically apply for membership in this professional association. ATPH board certifies your hours of training. Professional Members are eligible for liability insurance. Anne Salisbury, Ph.D., CCHt founded this association in 1995 (for more information, see Association for Transpersonal Psychology & Hypnotherapy Information)

International Hypnosis Federation (IHF): THI is an Approved Training School with the International Hypnosis Federation. THI Directors, Anne Salisbury, Ph.D., CCHt and Greg Meyerhoff, NLP, CCHt are IHF Fellows and Instructors. Graduates of THI may become Registered Members upon completing "Transpersonal Hypnotherapy." IHF tracks legislation and promotes that which is favorable to the industry. Important information is listed in the IHF newsletter, and discounts to IHF conferences are included with membership. Upon graduation from THI, contact IHF for an application. Shelley Stockwell, Ph.D. founded this association. (see Useful Links for Hypnotherapy)

American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (ACHE): Gil Boyne founded this association in 1980. From 1990-2005, THI held membership in ACHE as an Approved Hypnotism School. Anne Salisbury, Ph.D., CCHt, acted as an ACHE Approved Hypnotherapy Instructor and Designated Examiner.

Today, THI graduates receive certificates through the Association for Transpersonal Psychology & Hypnotherapy. These certificates of Hypnotist, Hypnotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist actually are included in tuition and last a lifetime. THI graduates are also free to join association.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Associations: There are many hypnosis and hypnotherapy organizations. Almost all of these were founded by owners of hypnosis and hypnotherapy schools. Some have annual conferences. Generally, as a graduate of THI, or any school for that matter, you are welcome to attend these conferences. This can be a fun thing to do once you graduate and begin your professional practice. For example, The International Hypnosis Federation, the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners and the National Guild of Hypnotists usually have conferences.
